SL 1.0 Objective Juggernaut

What a setup! I generally prefer counters but Nick's superb minis add a dimension to the scenario. This is the starting setup with the Juggernaut in Map A. The scenario calls for 10 maps--from Map A to J but the game play never left Map A. Maybe that was the Jugg's mistake?
We realized that the only way to defeat the beast was to coordinate our efforts. The Orion at the top of the map would uncloak to distract the rotating shield while the rest of the team would find a way to attack the monster's weak #4. On this map the Fed cruiser heads to the top of the map to meet the D7. The Orion in cloak waits for the perfect opportunity to distract the monster. The Tholian on the Juggernaut's right flank tries to position itself for a perfect shot. Seems simple enough.
The Juggernaut hasn't read the script and turns to starboard to attack the Tholian.
Juggernaut turns away from the severely damaged Tholian. As much fun as that was for the Juggernaut we realized he had to be running low on energy and the other cruisers were still on the map. The Tholian valiantly continued to pester the big guy for the rest of the scenario.
The plan to coordinate ran into some problems initially but eventually the Orion found his mark and the Fed and the D7 were able to line up on the target.

The Orion (in beautiful black paint it's hard to find him on the map) uncloaks to starboard of the Juggernaut and the rotating shield has no choice--it rotates to face the pirate. The Fed and the D7 are left facing the #1 shield of the Juggernaut. It's not the shield we had planned to be facing and it's not the ideal range for the Fed but it's our best shot and we take it.
After fire the Fed is gutted but the D7 and the Fed have taken down the big #1 shield of the Juggernaut and internals have been scored.

A High Energy Turn by the Jugg is a sign of desperation (even at Battlegroup Toronto where generally the first HET is only a setup for the second HET). But the Juggernaut is taking fire from all sides with the plucky Tholian still pecking away, shuttles and drones to contend with, Hit and Run raids it all becomes too much.

The scenario comes full circle as the Juggernaut's death throes included an attempt to take out the Tholian--but the Tholian stays on the map and the Juggernaut concedes. The play never really left Map A; the distraction of easy targets for the Juggernaut proved to be it's undoing. A great scenario and well played by all. Thanks to Nick for bringing the minis. Cheers to Dueling Grounds for hosting.
